The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies presents this year's Leal Award, which this year is being presented to Julissa Arce, who has written her moving memoirs about being an undocumented young person for many years. She is also the founder and director of the Ascend Educational Fund that provides college scholarships to undocumented students of any ethnic background.
The event will take place on Feb. 4 at 4 PM in the McCune Room of the IHC (HSSB 6020). We hope you can attend the event that honors the memory and contributions of Prof. Luis Leal to Chicano Studies on campus.
