Job Announcement: CHST Postdoctoral Scholar/Lecturer

The Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies seeks a Full Time Postdoctoral Scholar/Lecturer whose time will be divided between postdoctoral research in their area of expertise and teaching. The appointment runs from July 1, 2017 to June 30, 2018.

The Chicanx Studies Scholar/Lecturer will teach four undergraduate courses over three quarters (Fall, Winter, and Spring quarters) in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies. Preference will be given to those applicants able to contribute to Area III of the Chicana and Chicano Studies Major. Area III, "Social Processes," draws from (but is not limited to) expertise in Chicana/o/x Education, Politics, Sociology or Geography. The Chicanx Studies Scholar will be expected to make at least one public presentation of his or her research during the academic year. The final appointment will be made by the Dean of Social Sciences in the College of Letters and Sciences.

The scholar/lecturer is expected to provide intellectual expertise to the campus in his or her area of training as well as to engage with faculty affiliates of the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies and with students at both the graduate and undergraduate levels.

Ph.D. must be in hand in order to start July 1 as a PostDoc.
