Prof. Aída Hurtado, Luis Leal Endowed Chair and Professor in the Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies, will be presented the Legacy Award by the Chicana/Latina Foundation for her dedication and contributions to the field of Education.  The announcement states that Prof. Hurtado exemplifies the Foundation’s objective of empowering Chicanas/Latinas through personal, educational and professional advancement. The Foundation notes that it is “thrilled" to present this award to such an "inspiring, brilliant Latina educator.” The Department is honored and proud to count her as one of our own!
