Attached is the final program for the Sal Castro Memorial Conference on the Emerging Historiography of the Chicano Movement on Feb. 26-27 in the McCune Room of the IHC. This third conference on the Chicano Movement with 25 presenters clearly reveals that we do not know everything about the Movement and that many especially young scholars are re-discovery exciting and new aspects about the movement and the roles of both Chicanos and Chicanas in it. The Chicano Movement established Chicano Studies and UCSB was the host of the historic Plan de Santa Barbara that provided the blueprint for the establishment of Chicano Studies programs and so the conference is a natural for all of us.
