Professor Dolores Inés Casillas receives 2016 AAHHE Book of the Year Award

Prof. Casillas was honored by the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) with the 2016 Book of the Year AwardEach year,  the American Association of Hispanics in Higher Education (AAHHE) adopts a book written by a Latino/a author as the Conference book.  Prof. Casillas's Sounds of belonging: U.S Spanish-language Radio and Public Advocacy (New York University Press, 2014) was selected for this year's conference.  Her book examines how immigration politics throughout the twentieth century has shaped the character and growth of U.S Spanish-language radio.
